New Confetti & Fireworks & why we have jewelry in our collection in the first place

Aside from interior products and design-solutions for the day-to-day, House of Thol designs jewelry.
Random, right?
Maybe i shouldn't actually say 'House of Thol designs it', since jewelry is really my (Jana's) background, and what i focused on when working under company name 'World of Driftwood'.

Taking the step to work together with Thomas meant that part of my 'World of Driftwood' projects would have to be put on the side-burner for a while. Which i didn't have a problem with at all.
But jewelry ideas kept popping up, and although we still haven't quite figured out how it fits in with everything, we decided to incorporate some of my jewelry designs into our House of Thol collection.

Short answer: There's jewelry in our collection because i couldn't help designing it. (saving possible unconscious significance for retrospection)

Right.
Glad we got that covered.
Now let's talk about the new Confetti & Fireworks necklaces...

ABOUT CONFETTI & FIREWORKS

Confetti & Fireworks is a new series of contemporary brass and enamel necklaces, similar to the Neotribal collection.
The speckled finish, bright colors and geometric shapes make Confetti & Fireworks a perfect modern accessory, both for the everyday as for a dressy special occasion.

Brighten up your day with the light and bright Confetti-necklace, or go for mysterious chique with the darkblue speckled Fireworks.

All Confetti & Fireworks necklaces are handmade with care in our studio in Zandvoort, at the Dutch seaside.
Each necklace comes in a sturdy cardboard giftbox and has a lengthy gilt ballchain that slips on easily.

A bit of a 'salesy' text?
That's possible, part of it is taken from Crowdyhouse, where Confetti & Fireworks will premier this Monday. - CHECK IT OUT

Lovely photographs of Waterworks in the Zetas webshop (Sweden).

Meanwhile in Sweden...

Waterworks was featured on lantliv.com, in this article by blogger and (if i understand correctly) shop owner of Zetas Tradgard, Victoria Skoglund.
Sadly my knowledge of the Swedish language only extends to 'Skoll', therefore i have no idea what's in this article, but the photographs are gorgeous!

Pretty rocks @ Naturalis

Two of the more solid natural beauties we encountered during our visit of Naturalis Biodiversity Centre in Leiden last weekend:

The other blog: World of Driftwood

Did you know we have another blog?

In our House of Thol blog we try to stick to the topic: House of Thol, our projects and everything surrounding that.

But, we also have a place for all the miscellaneous beautiful things we come across: design, photography, art, interiors, architecture, DIY's, pretty icepops...

All that inspirational prettiness is collected in our other blog, our online scrapbook: World Of Driftwood.
Make sure to check it out if you like pretty things (like we do).

Here are a few of the things we collected last month:

Shooting jewelry - what we did this Weekend

Last Saturday was the first (kind of) sunny day in over a week: finally time for some photography!

Neotribal, a range of very wearable unique handmade necklaces with a geomatric touch (enameled brass, gilded ball-chain), has been waiting to be added to the webshop for a while now, and this Weekend we finally had time to shoot some pieces.

Neotribal - enameled brass, gilded ball-chain - The Driftwood '13/'14

We'll be adding them to the shop shortly, don't miss it, these are all unique works of jewelry!

In case you're wondering why we didn't go outside when the weather was that nice: don't worry, we did that too.

Pinterest Love | Follow us!

We've been loving Pinterest so much lately... - From party-scenes to stylish interiors and from childrens' toys to art and photography, there is no stopping us when it comes to pinning.

Curious? Follow us here.

We're on Instagram, follow us!

Yes! House of Thol has an official Instagram-account!
Finally!

It took us a while, partly because you can only manage one instagram-account at a time on your phone, and i had my personal account going on. However, lately i've been sharing more and more House of Thol related pictures on that account and we decided to finish our Social Media collection by adding Instagram to the mix (we added Google+ as well, by the way).

Of course we were already on Pinterest: another image-driven social media channel that i absolutely love spending (way too much) time on.
What i adore about Instagram is that it's so personal: this is truly what's going on in peoples' lives right now (with a pretty filter added of course).

And now we'll be sharing what's going on with House of Thol on a day-to-day basis.
How about following us? We'll follow back! [click]

photographs by Masha Bakker

A while ago we went to Arnhem for a Waterworks photoshoot with photographer Masha Bakker (click).

We're extremely happy with the images Masha shot that day. The freshness and crispness she captured is exactly what we were looking for.

Like what you're seeing?

Photoshoot day in Arnhem

Masha Bakker during the Waterworks photoshoot (With Thomas assisting)

The official Waterworks launch is getting closer and closer, which means we were in dire need of professional product photographs. The pics we've used so far are ok(-ish), but lack crispness and professionality.

Since we were highly impressed with Photographer Masha Bakkers' work, we thought she would be perfect for the job. We got in touch with her a couple of months ago and yesterday we drove to the other side of the country to work with Masha in her studio in Arhem.

Here's a example of Masha's work:
Masha Bakker Photography for Lenneke Wispelwey

Once we got there, it took Masha only about 15 minutes to set up and shoot the first photographs, which were already right up to the mark.
After shooting in the studio for about an hour we packed up our plants and Waterworks-sets and went to 'Kweekland' (a little urban-gardening centre 5 minutes from Masha's studio) for a few location-shots in a little greenhouse.

This morning we received low res versions of the many many photographs that were shot yesterday: it's up to us to make a first selection.
Alright...      This might take us a while....
